who has time to do more?

re-designing the course
  • keep the basic content similar (i.e questioning technique, education, spider)
  • design magazine company - soumitri as editor
  • making a lateral thinking, how to learn and problem solving bumper edition
  • have a publication at the end of the semester inclusing documentation of process, soumitri's lectures, photos and articless etc. the structure of the course (when what will be learnt approximately when set out in a timetable)
  • all wear black - designers
  • must not repeat previous content (assuming this would run for a few semesters)
  • mentors within the class (mafia)
  • previous semesters players as consultants
  • different departments
  • moving around between departments
  • keep lectures form soumitri, and also publish them
  • guest speakers on education etc
  • continual documentation of the learning process, not crappy writing, or soething which has been thrown together at the last minute
  • LCP, input and soumitri will determine individual grades
  • there should be a glossy publication at the end

the main idea is to do what we did this semester, but include documentation so that we can have a reference, and something to show for it in the end.

Ben, Soumitri will not determine individual grades. First the grades have been decided by the students themselves. We can have a 'jury' at the end of the semester - the members of the jury can be slected from the stduent group ( no staff). Last year this jury wrote a report for each student.

You can have observers who can attend the sessions (over two days?) to see for themselves what you are talking about, showing, and discussing.

Soumitri is the coach, whose job it is to sit on the bench on the side, and take the crap. It has to be your show - just like footy or netball.

fair enough. but i dont want randoms reviewing my piece or my effort - they're not critical enough! i know i wasnt critical of tysons essay in studies because i knew what ti felt like to go and retype it.
it should definitely be a panel of people, and perhaps those electing for a high mark?people who dont want to give to the class - in terms of effort and time will not assess their peers effectively, i believe. though giving them the opportunity to do so might make them interested - even giving them a responsibility?
