diagnose. Examine the benefits of self diagnosis eg. to maintain general health. Find the weaknesses Diagnosis of mental health – help with denial?. Examine current diagnosis websites, their accessibility, cost, knowledge and questionnaire technique. Perhaps design a course for self diagnosis, building a greater bank of self knowledge, and improving the average community medical knowledge. In a country where community is key, reduce the strain on professional doctors and try a community health place, similar to childcare. What are the ethics of self diagnosis? Is it socially acceptable to know your own body and health, and to treat it accordingly. How far can self diagnosis go? Should partial self diagnosis be required in some clinics (i.e a health log?). If medical knowledge of the greater community increases to a point where doctors become less revered will curing health lose its cloak of magic? Will the medical profession become more specialised with less GPs? How will that change the social structure? Examine the role of the doctor, and its ‘elevated’ status as the giver of medicine and the bearer of knowledge. Examine the education of Australian Doctors and how this culture is instilled in them. Understand how doctors can understand patients with a very brief questioning of their lifestyle. Recognise that patients do not know which parts or incidences in their lives relate to their ailment. Learn how we can improve the education of the patient, to be a patient. Examine the role of the patient, and how they are treated subjectively and objectively. Increase connection between doctor adnd patient, look at the local regular doctor/GP. The Patient or practice debate. See how education can be shared by patient and doctor to better both. How the doctor’s knowledge can be passed on to the Patient. How the patient can learn from a doctor, or a medical institution, or in more informal way to partially self

Hi that sounds really interesting self diagnosing as with some paranoid people who always seem to go. Though with some people it wouldn’t work such as those people with anorexia and stuff, mental health is a lot harder to recognise and treat, but I am sure that others would be able to pick it for them. I want to see what you find out along the way it’s very intriguing.
